I started Influent with my twin brother, with the aim to empower brands and agencies to run amazing influencer marketing campaigns. We later pivoted to focus on giving influencers the data they need to understand and grow their audience, and produce better content.

I designed, developed, deployed and operated all of the tech for both of our products, mostly as the only designer and technical contributor. We have two web apps running in the cloud, using React and Typescript, Firebase and Google Cloud Platform.

It turns out, as one of two co-founders, there’s a lot of other stuff that goes into running a company that I had to get stuck into. That meant marketing, sales and support, besides general admin. We’ve had several happy customers, and we’re now operating at a modest profit.

Influent has been an unbelievable learning experience. I’ve learnt so much in a short space of time - about business, technology, finance, sales and more. The company continues to run, although I’m taking a back seat for the time being.
